  1. Character Poem:

    Todd

    Noise.
    In Prentisstown.
    I am a man in a month.
    Noise.
Their Noise washes down the hill like a flood
    Like a fire.
Like a monster the size of a sky coming to get you cuz there’s nowhere to run.
    Noise.
A redness comes over my noise.
Like nothing I have ever felt before.
Sudden and raw like a red-hot brand pressing into my own self.
    A burning bright redness.
A roaring rage of the unfairness and the injustice and the lies.
    Noise.
Noise buzzes in you louder than a hive at honey gathering time.
The Noise of them floats up like a light fog.
    Knowledge is dangerous.
    Silence.
    Coward.
    That’s how he wins.
    That’s how Aaron wins.
I have a knife in my hand.
Power at the end of my arms.
A knife says cut or not, yes or no, die or don’t.
I can’t bring the knife down to finish the job.
I am the biggest effing waste of nothing known to man.
    Coward.
    Silence.

  2. I think Todd is a hero, because even though he argues with Viola a lot, he still want to help her and everybody around him.

    [SPOILER ALERT]

Even though he’s been fed lies his whole life, he is still determined and tried to save Ben and Viola from Mayor Prentiss.

  3. Todd is a boy who has been lied to his whole life. He starts out in the story as an innocent boy, oblivious to everything around him. As the story progresses Todd is suddenly told to leave Prentisstown and everything he ever knew behind. This is the beginning of Todd’s suspicion in his own knowledge. Meeting Hildy, everything changes and many events begin building on him. He encounters more people, and begins to piece together the history of Prentisstown. All of this greatly influences Todd and eventually leads him to distrust the authorities of Prentisstown, something he had no reason to do before.

  4. The song I chose is hero by: Enrique lglesisa. This song represents the conflict between Todd and viola because in the song he says how he can be her hero and in the the book Todd is the hero of the girl and how he will let his dog die for viola.
